Based in his native Luxembourg, Max built a career over almost 11 years in London as a freelance musician. After his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama he went on to work with leading orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He was appointed Principal Clarinet of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra from 2014-2015.

Since 2020, Max is a member of United Instruments of Lucilin and is a keen performer of contemporary repertoire, as well as forays into jazz and traditional music.

Max teaches clarinet at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire and plays Seggelke Clarinets.
